The Short Coat Podcast
This podcast is from the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine from the medical students for medical students. The talk about a lot of relevant topics in the news relating to healthcare. It's an interesting podcast because it's from the students perspective as they are going through med school in real time and we get to hear about their experiences. It is different than hearing things from teachers and doctors because they might try to spin things and make what they do seem easier and without error. One of the most interesting podcasts is about actually beginning the clinical part of medical school training and how different it is from the classroom and preclinical learning. Other podcast include the role of medicaid and religion in practicing medicine. In the medical community I enjoy learning and hearing experiences directly from the students about what I can look forward to when I get into school. It is also a more indepth look for civilians to learn and understand more about the medical profession.
